up, good people?\n\nThis is your host, Neil Real, and this is the Apostate Apple broadcast.\n\nToday I'm talking about how the Bible destroys self esteem, self confidence and self love.\n\nOkay, I've alluded to this in previous broadcasts, but now I'm really talking about it and I found at least 30 scriptures.\n\nI'm sure there's more, but but they take direct shots at who you are as a person, your esteem and confidence and love for yourself.\n\nSo this is going to be a dive into those scriptures.\n\nBut before we do that, today we're talking about self esteem and how the Bible will lure your self esteem.\n\nFirst of all, let me just explain why self esteem is so important.\n\nThis is an article from very wellmined.com.\n\nIt says, having healthy self esteem can influence your motivation, your mental well being, and your overall quality of life.\n\nHowever, having self esteem that is either too high or too low can be problematic.\n\nHere are the reason why self esteem is important.\n\nSelf esteem impacts your decision making process, your relationships, your emotional health, your overall well being.\n\nIt also influences motivation as people with healthy, positive view of themselves understand their potential and may feel inspired to take on new challenges.\n\nAnd this is very important.\n\nIf you want to win in life, you need to have high self esteem.\n\nSo here's four key characteristics of healthy self esteem.\n\nA firm understanding of one's skills.\n\nNumber two, the ability to maintain healthy relationships with others as a result of having a healthy relationship with one's self.\n\nVery important.\n\nIf you ain't got a good relationship with yourself, you cannot maintain good relationships with other people.\n\nAll right.\n\nNumber three, realistic and appropriate personal expectations.\n\nAnd it says number four here an understanding of one's needs and the ability to express those needs.\n\nOnce again, very important.\n\nHe goes on to say here, people with low self esteem tend to feel less sure of their abilities and may doubt their decision making process.\n\nThey may not feel motivated to try novel things because they don't believe they can reach their goals.\n\nThose with low self esteem may have issues with relationships and expressing their needs.\n\nThey may also experience low levels of confidence and feel unlovable and unworthy.\n\nI'm not going to get into the rest of this article here because that ain't the point here.\n\nBut I wanted to show you how the Bible kind of takes a shot at all of that with a few scriptures here.\n\nHere's a good one.\n\nGalatians, chapter six, verses three.\n\nIt says, if anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.\n\nSo what the h*** are you doing thinking you are something when you are not?\n\nYou are deceiving yourselves.\n\nSo anybody has a thought that, hey, I'm great, I'm an awesome person, I'm good.\n\nNo, what are you doing?\n\nYou are deceiving yourself.\n\nYou see a shot at that.\n\nThey want to keep your mindset humble.\n\nNow, a lot of people say they don't like people bragging, they don't like people boasting, and we get that.\n\nBut we need to all think of ourselves as something, all right?\n\nThat's normal self esteem, okay?\n\nHere's another one.\n\nRomans, chapter twelve, verses 16.\n\nIt says, live in harmony with one another.\n\nDo not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.\n\nDo not be conceded.\n\nNow, I get this passage, but they're associating pride with being conceded.\n\nThat's my issue here.\n\nSo be willing to associate with people low position.\n\nSay, for instance, you are an attorney and you see a janitor cleaning out the toilets or whatever.\n\nYou don't speak to them, you don't deal with them because you feel like, well, I'll make more money than them, I'm better than them.\n\nThat's the problem right there.\n\nAnd that's not really pride there.\n\nThat's arrogance, okay, where you think you better than them and above them and they don't deserve your respect or something like that.\n\nSo some will say, yeah, the Bible is saying, don't be arrogant, but it also takes a shot at your esteem, meaning that you can't even have basic self esteem.\n\nLet me show you what pride is, because they keep constantly the word pride is often used in the Bible as a sin.\n\nWe also know that that's one of the seven deadly sins.\n\nBut let me show you what pride is.\n\nIt's a sense of one's own proper dignity or value, self respect, pleasure or satisfaction taken in an achievement, possession or association.\n\nAll right?\n\nSo there's nothing negative about that.\n\nThere's nothing negative about those two definitions of pride, all right?\n\nNow, arrogance goes further than that.\n\nSo it's like, yeah, I feel good about myself, but everybody else ain't s*** around me, you know what I'm saying?\n\nI'm better than these people out here.\n\nYou feel me?\n\nThat's the type of s*** that nobody likes that.\n\nAnd that's what I would call immoral.\n\nLet me see another passage here.\n\nHere's James, chapter four, verses six.\n\nIt says, God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble.\n\nOkay?\n\nSo once again, basic proper dignity for yourself, value for yourself, self respect.\n\nGod don't like that.\n\nHe don't want you to have that, okay?\n\nJust to have pride is a sin against God.\n\nHe says.\n\nHe opposes the proud, those who feel good about themselves.\n\nHe has a problem with those people.\n\nAnd so everybody, especially myself, I'm considered a proud person now because I don't want to get down with God or I take pride in my abilities.\n\nI'm a web developer, I'm an artist, a graphic designer.\n\nI got skills.\n\nI take dignity in that.\n\nI take dignity and pride in my appearance, but somehow I'm a bad person because of that.\n\nAnd see what you'll see as I can keep going on here throughout this series, is what they want to do, this spirit of religion.\n\nHe wants to tear you down as a person.\n\nThey don't want you to feel good about yourself.\n\nThey want that feeling of good to come from that religion.\n\nHere's some more shots at your self esteem.\n\nPsalms 51 five surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.\n\nThere you go again, taking a shot at me.\n\nI'm a sinful person from birth.\n\nAnd what this does to people, as I mentioned before, that it destroys your self esteem.\n\nYou start to look low in yourself and you don't see yourself as valuable and all that good stuff.\n\nThe Bible talks about being meek.\n\nHe constantly tells people to be meek.\n\nWhat is meekness?\n\nLet's look that up.\n\nWhat does that mean?\n\nShowing patience and humility, gentle, easily imposed on submissive.\n\nI don't like that second definition right there to be easily imposed on and submissive.\n\nOkay?\n\nAnd you see here that you said, showing patience and humility, gentle.\n\nGod wants these weak a** m************.\n\nThat's what he wants you to be.\n\nYou're gentle.\n\nYou're just easily imposed upon, be submissive.\n\nAnd that's what he wants.\n\nHe wants people like that.\n\nThis is what this book is telling you to be.\n\nAnd we know that the God of the Bible doesn't exist.\n\nThey can't prove his existence.\n\nIt's really a bunch of men using this book to control you and to suppress you.\n\nAnd they saying, look, you need to be this way so that we can mold you, that we can control you.\n\nWe don't want people who think for themselves, who have high self esteem and feel good about themselves.\n\nWe want a bunch of low self esteem having m************.\n\nThat's what we want.\n\nWeak a**, beat down people.\n\nThat's the people we need so we can mold them.\n\nI read all this and followed it, and I was a meek person.\n\nI was patient, I was humble, I was gentle, and it didn't get me that far.\n\nEasily imposed on is the second definition here.\n\nSubmissive.\n\nWomen don't like that word.\n\nI don't like that word.\n\nAnd we'll talk about that too, like women ain't had no business submitting to a man they don't want to submit to.\n\nMatthew five five says, blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.\n\nSo once again, what are the meek?\n\nPeople that show patience and humility, which is the opposite of pride.\n\nSo they want you to be less than who you are and then be easily imposed on and submissive.\n\nThose are the people that will inherit the earth.\n\nAnd we know that there is no afterlife.\n\nThere is not going to be judgment from God or anything like that.\n\nSo anybody being meek is pretty much going to have a problem on this earth.\n\nThey're going to get pushed around, they get disrespected, and then they're going to die and not wake up into heaven.\n\nThey just won't have anything.\n\nSo you'll have a miserable existence trying to follow this Bible.\n\nAnd once again, I was a person doing that.\n\nI was following that.\n\nLet's keep going here.\n\nFirst Peter four, chapter four, verses ten through eleven.\n\nThis is another one.\n\nIt gets to me, and that's why I'm so against this Bible right now.\n\nAt least the interpretation, how it's given to the people.\n\nFirst Peter, chapter four, verses ten and eleven.\n\nIt says, I just want to hone in on that last sentence to Him be the glory and the power forever and ever.\n\nAmen.\n\nThis is constant thing throughout the Scriptures where you got to give God the glory for anything you do, anything great happening.\n\nAll.\n\nGlory be to God.\n\nAnd I remember as a Bible teacher, even when people give me compliments on my wisdom and supposed wisdom in espousing the Scriptures, oh, man, I really appreciate you, man.\n\nYou're really a wise man.\n\nAll.\n\nGlory be to God.\n\nI would never accept their congratulations or praise for my abilities.\n\nI will always give glory to God for my skills and web design.\n\nI think I would give glory to God in artistry.\n\nAll.\n\nGlory be to God.\n\nIt's like, it's not me, it's Him.\n\nHe's doing this.\n\nHe gave me this.\n\nEverything is about Him, not me when I'm the f****** person that did the s***.\n\nBut I got to give glory to God.\n\nSo this is why I say, all glory be to me.\n\nWhen I do something good, I give glory to myself.\n\nI pat myself on the back.\n\nGood for me.\n\nAnd that supports my self esteem.\n\nOkay, once again, high self esteem is feelings of competence, having self confidence, a feeling of security.\n\nYou need all these things to be successful in life.\n\nBut if everything is connected to a God that don't exist, you're kind of f***** up in the game.\n\nThis is not healthy to your psyche as a person here.\n\nBut yet the Bible is telling you this is how things should be.\n\nAll right, here's another one.\n\nThey just get worse and worse as we go.\n\nJohn, chapter three, verses 30.\n\nIt says, I must decrease so he which is God, can increase.\n\nSo he's essentially saying, put yourself down and uplift, jesus, once again leading to poor self esteem.\n\nSee if you can't pat yourself on the back every time you do something great which boosts your esteem.\n\nYou won't have confidence in your abilities going forward as a person if you keep giving glory to God.\n\nWho are you?\n\nI'm going to keep going.\n\nLet me just show you some more of these passages here.\n\nWhen you really study the Bible, you will see how degrading it is to people.\n\nRomans, chapter seven, verses 24.\n\nOver the wretched man I am who will rescue me from this body of sin.\n\nFirst of all, rescue now?\n\nNow I got to be rescued, but I'm a wretched man.\n\nThat's a negative thing to say about yourself.\n\nOnce again, all this stuff here, these are negative affirmations that will manifest in your life to where you will be what you say you are about yourself.\n\nSo as a man thinketh, so he is, which is a proverb from the Bible, but it's also a copy from somewhere else.\n\nYou see this?\n\nYou're a wretched person.\n\nWe read that passage in the past about people struggling with sin and that you supposed to feel like a wretched person every time you wake up and live because you're such a sinner.\n\nAnd you got to constantly go to God for forgiveness.\n\nAnd this is destroying your self esteem and your pride in yourself.\n\nYou need to have pride in yourself to be a healthy human being.\n\nHere's another passage that just destroys your self esteem.\n\nIt just goes against anything that you do good.\n\nIn Isaiah, chapter 64, verses six, it says all your good works are like filthy rags to God.\n\nAnything you doing good to Him is just don't compare.\n\nHe's so much holier than you, you never measure up to Him.\n\nHe's better than you.\n\nWhat you're doing for him is worthless.\n\nThis is what the Bible teaches, and it's about the grace of God that you're saved.\n\nIt's the blood of Jesus that saves you, not you.\n\nIt's about God.\n\nIt's not about you.\n\nYou ain't s***.\n\nEven on your best day, you ain't s*** compared to me.\n\nAnd this is what you know, this Bible rams into people's minds.\n\nSo this is why a lot of Christians have low self esteem.\n\nAnother one, and this is the final one before we get up out of here.\n\nJohn, chapter 15, verses five through six.\n\nI'm a paraphrase it, but it basically says you can do nothing without Christ.\n\nHe talks about Christ being the vine and you are the branches.\n\nAnd without the vine, you ain't s***.\n\nYou're just an extension to Him.\n\nOnce again, he says you can do nothing without Christ.\n\nAnd I've also heard people say you are nothing without Christ.\n\nAnd essentially that's what the Bible teaches as well.\n\nHe created you.\n\nYou're an extension to him.\n\nWithout Him, you wouldn't be here.\n\nYou wouldn't be there, wouldn't be nothing.\n\nSo people don't have a lot of high self esteem when they study and ingest these Bible verses here.\n\nOkay, that's all I got for you today.\n\nI got more, so stay tuned.\n\nI'll have another group of them talking about them, and I'll be talking about self love and confidence in your autonomy as a person and your mindset.\n\nThe Bible is coming at you in all different kind of ways to tear that down.\n\nSo stay tuned.\n\nI appreciate you for listening to
